What if my payment fails?

If your payment fails, please try your payment again, making sure to enter your credit card information exactly as it appears on your card, including the card number, expiration date and the 3 or 4-digit code from the back of the card. Be sure to enter the correct credit card billing address or zip/postal code if asked. If there are any errors or typos, the payment won't go through.

If the order is required to ship to your billing ZIP or postal code

Please try your payment again making sure that your shipping address is the same as your credit card billing address. If you've recently moved, be sure your billing address has been updated with your card-issuing bank. You'll need to contact your bank to let them know what your correct billing address is. This is not something that can be changed through Tophatter.

If your billing address is correct, please make sure that you are selecting that as your shipping address on Tophatter when you make payment. You can manage your shipping addresses on file from Manage Addresses under Account Info. After you've completed this, try your payment again.

If your card is declined

Declines are produced by your card-issuing bank for various reasons. If you have questions about a payment decline, Please contact your bank directly.

If you are using a prepaid gift card

Prepaid and gift cards from major credit cards Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are accepted as long as the cards are registered with a billing and mailing address. To learn more about registering your card, visit the website on the back of the card, or call the toll-free number found there. 

If you are trying to pay with your PayPal account

Occasionally existing PayPal account holders must log in or call PayPal's customer service to verify the transaction. Contact PayPal directly for more details.

If you are still unable to pay and you have tried everything above, please try your payment again using a different payment method.
