How are payments processed?

Payment transactions may be processed up to 12 hours after you purchase an order. If you purchase multiple orders within that time frame, they may be combined into a single charge. At this time, each transaction must be processed individually when paying through PayPal.

Charges from the Tophatter platform appear on your bank or PayPal statements with the reference  TOPHATT*.

  • If the charge relates to a single order, TOPHATT* will be followed by the Order number.
  • If the charge relates to multiple orders, the TOPHATT* will be followed by the word "batch" and the batch ID number.

What if I need more information on a charge?

  1. Visit My Orders and click on an item.
  2. On the invoice under the Total amount of that order, you'll see a Combined Total button, if the payment transaction included multiple orders.
  3. Click the button to view all the orders included in that payment, and the total amount of each.

If you have additional questions, please Contact Us and provide the full TOPHATT* reference number from the charge on your statement along with the following information:

  • Date of the charge
  • Amount of the charge 
  • If you paid with credit/debit card: last 4 digits of the card number and the card type (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express)
  • If you paid with PayPal: the PayPal email address you use to sign into your PayPal account
